INFORMATION ON JOINING JOGSCOTLAND CHRYSTON

Anyone who is interested in joining our groups can come along and speak to a Jogleader at our information day on Saturday 5th June (10am – 12 noon). If you can’t manage then, come along a bit earlier on the stated days below.

Our blocks run for 10 weeks starting…

Tues 8th June, 6:30pm & 6:45pm – Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced
Thur 10th June, 6:30pm – Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced
Sat 12th June, 9.30am – Advanced 1 / Advanced 2

Our recipient of the 2007 achiever of the year award was Carol Hepburn pictured hear receiving her award from Margaret Deas.
Throughout the year, Carol has stuck to her goals, and has been an inspiration to others by showing the determination to achieve what she has set out to do.

Mull of Kintyre Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to all of the jogscotland Chryston runners who, due to the great organisation skills of Margaret Sinclair, ventured to the Mull of Kintyre to compete in only the 2nd running of the half marathon and 10k races.

Gemma placed 3rd (allegedly fueled by vodka) in the 10k and Cathy 3rd in the half marathon in a personal best time.

A special congratulations from jogscotland Chryston also goes to Joan Brown from Craigmarloch (pictured here with Margaret) who at 73 years young finished in an impressive 1hr 16mins. You can read more about Joan’s running exploits here.

Snowballs in May!!! – 2nd May 2007

On Wednesday 2nd of May 50 or so of our members made the short journey to Sunny Coatbridge to take part in THE SCOTTISH VETERAN HARRIERS annual 4.8 mile “Snowballs” race.

This event is organised by�veteran runner and living legend Bill McBrinn who extends an annual invitation to the jogscotland members of North Lanarkshire to slip on their racing shoes for this hospitable and laid back event.

With a managable distance of 4.8 miles and it’s low key atmosphere, this event is perfect for members wishing a gentle introduction to taking part in races.
